I'm running vbulletin with vbadvanced and we're thinking about having a large redesign and update and I stumbled across this site and vbmagazine looks superb but maybe not quite what we're looking for as we're a news site with new news all the time.

Also, do you have any idea how server intensive either vbherald or vbmagazine would be compared to vbadvanced? Sorry, someone else beat you to it. vBsports will be really nice though. Will be able to accommodate any kind of sports and will include many scripts into one (fantasy, predictions, historical events, statistics, etc .. etc ...)

It will take sometime for vBherald to be out of production. The basic difference between vBherald and vBmagazine is simple. With vBmagazine you create issues and they are here to stay forever. A history is kept, and reader can go back in time and view original issue. The look can vary also with evry issue.

With vBherald, every time you update, you have the same look over and over with new stories and can't see old editions the way it was, but only as forums archives

Yes, vBherald will be offered with the bundle version. But if you already have vBmagazine, then you'll already have vBcaption, vBmultipages and vBattach

The question I have is: Can vBherald support multilanguage?
I believe vBmagazine can achieve this just by creating two issues with the same template and different language, but is it possible to add multilanguage support in vBherald?

All products are fully phrased so you can make it multi language. However, just like vbulletin, the articles themselves will not be multi language

It's in a fairly advanced stage. I need to do some templates and the slideshows. With the templates, you assign what you want to a subtopic so it has a unique display (you can also create your template and slideshow layout. All you do is to place $top, $middle, $bottom where you want for them to display). I got the auto cropping done and I need to add a free form crop option. I successfully experimented with it last night. I also need to finalize the slider (3 images of the next threads on top of showthread)

Soon... I have been adding new features such as adding advertsising/videos anywhere inside the thread .... uploading your own video or use any of the service providers such as Youtube etc ... plus forumdisplay got some new features were user can also sort threads by videos or by favorites etc ...

BUT usage while also very simple can easily overwhelm some as there are tons of features. And I am currently adding a couple more: Allow users to create videos playlist (via ajax and completed); in addition of having a slideshow (with a different look) for every topic, if you so desire, I am adding tomorrow the option to create galleries from threads, so if a thread is part of a gallery I could display an icon also like those in attached image

99% done. I added a couple of new features. Besides being able to have a different slideshow for every topic, you can also have pick and choose which threads to put in a slideshow (mixing topics). I added videos play list too and some more.

It was set to be released this week, but as I have been canvassing major news publications for ideas I added a couple more options. Eventually I would need to stop doing that as every time I looked at some new news publication I see a neat new option. It's 99% done. All that's left is the admin help files (and stop adding more options)

The mod is 99.99% done as far as coding is concerned. Why not 100%? Because I am currently giving it a thorough testing, cleaning up my comments in the code, doing some minor improvements. I beta test all my codes as I go. But things happen. For example after I tested an ajax call, I just wasted 2 hours trying to find out why it stopped working ... to find out it was because of the security token that I added in the script one week later. I am planning to do all testing tonight, finalize some layouts templates (you'll be able to add yours) ... and then comes the hardest part (for me): prepare the help files; I am not a detailed writer, and for some people you need to explain what a right click is or how to upload an image.

So I'll say that it will take me 2 to 3 days to write the help, then I have to set the demo, take all the screenshots etc ...

I had rather not. Too many options, and I do not want to have to explain them every 5 minutes. Much better to put them in a manual. There are a lots of ajax edits in there. Lots of options in thread tools.

You can add a different slideshow for a group of forums, for a specific forums or for a group of threads. You can add videos, audios, create galleries from uploaded jpg or from other sites and attach them to a thread. Users can rearrange the homepage display. You can add blogs or dynamics. You can use external scripts. Each topic can have a different discreet theme. Thread Tools have lots of new items. You can add time featured articles. SmartResizer. SmartTags that create Hot Topics. SmartAds that automatically displays advertisement inside your article after xx paragraphs that you set. Same for SmartVideos. Etc ... etc ...

There are lots of things in there and you'll get lost without a guide.

You have Main Page, Topic Pages and Subtopic Pages.

Every topic page can have a different slideshow layout. Every subtopic page can have a different look.

I am attaching an image of the menu and one display option for the subtopic page. From the time I posted the admin screenshots I added a few more options in them.

Forumdisplay. The little heart indicates to user that it is in it's favorites. The burgandy band in all the screenshots is the theme for that section and can also be applied to menu. Two new sort options added: videos and favorites.
