Does vBcart (Standard) require Ioncube?

Hello there, I'm interested in purchasing vBcart. On your website, it states:

All scripts require ioncube and vbulletin software and new downloads are approved manually within 24 hours, business days.

Is there a free version of Ioncube that will work with vBcart, or is it necessary to purchase the full Ioncube encoder just to get vBcart working?

ioncube decoder are free.
encoder is required for pro version only, if you want to encode your products.
