I'm highly interested in the iReviews system. I'd like to know if this will be considered a content type in vb4 or is this a forum? My goal would be to have this as a seperate area disconnected from the forums. If not and it is expected that this is actually a forum, is there a way to at least give the appearance that it is standalone?

Also, what is the ETA on this product being ported over?

Hi,

iReviews is a standalone tightly integrated with vbulletin. It has it's own homepage and uses showthread to display reviews.

Bad news is vB 4.0 is not compatible yet.

Thanks for the quick response Lionel. Do you have an ETA on when the iReviews system will be available for vB4? If not, where does this product stand in order of priority with your other conversions?

I can tell you that vbattach and vbcaption have been merged into a new product, very easy to use and to place images where you want to in thread, and then ajax add a caption to it.

These little details, in my opinion are essentials to have a nice article.

I hope to roll out vBmagazine 4.0 this week or next one.

The current descriptions for both vbattach and vbcaption point to the forums as to where the changes would be made. Would those two (now merged) products be avalable to content types and blogs as well?

This and one other site are the ones I'm checking nearly every dang day for these releases as I feel some of these items are essential to building my site.

the new item will be named imageStory. Easy to install and to use. You upload your attachments the normal way and then you insert the thumbs tags where you want in your text. After submission you'll be able to add different caption below every image via ajax.

After all I was able to split vBattach and vBcaption. vb 4.0 demos are up. So that kills imageStory

Once vb 4.0 is more stable I'll look to incorporate them in blogs and content also

For me that's the most exciting aspect of vb4. So many products for previous versions were limited to being creative in the forums alone, not a bad thing, but now, there is the CMS which as it stands is completely untouched in the vB community. I haven't seen one new content type out there, or even too much with products for articles or blogs. I know that I'm particularly excited about the reviews product. I'd love to see it as a content type or as a standalone product that can be contained or pointed to in a section. I know that you have the interviews product you're working on now, but I'm staying tuned!

Actually I am working on vBmagazine and am very pleased with what I see so far. With a few clicks one will be able to create nicely aligned magazines with thousands of different looks.

You are a busy man! When it's all said and done you may have some of the best plugins out there for vB4!

iReviews for 4.0 has been released and the demo is up. Registered members can test in the Test Reviews forums. Restaurant configurations have been set in there.
