A magazine is graphic driven. Not every one has the same monitor resolution. To control what everyone sees and to ensure that they see the same, we recommend that you use a fixed style. You can have a fluid style for the rest of your site and bypass that style in vBmagazine options to use a fixed style just for vBmagazine.
Know your canvas size. In the demo we are using a fixed style of 1100 px. The left navigation of vBmagazine is 200px wide. Therefore our canvas size is 900.
Additionally, we have 30px padding left and right of the content. We set that in vBoptions.
For homogeneity we also opted to have the thumbs into a perfect square.
Now when we create an issue, we simply tick off the checkbox for autosize in all 3 options, main image, vertical and horizontal zones. vBmagazine will automatically calculate the size of the thumbs according to how many articles you want to place in every zone (horizontal and vertical) depending of the style that you selected.
Once you set your canvas size, all you will have to do will be to select a layout, select articles and submit.
Articles created in a vBmagazine forum are moderated by nature and automatically become visible when issue is published. The reason for that is simple. If you were to have all articles to display for issue creation you could end up having thousands of them. Besides, what is the point of creating a magazine with articles that everyone read?
You could create dozens of issues ahead and set for them to auto-publish at set day and time. You could also automatically change the thread creation date at publication time.
The next screen will take you to an ajax driven page where you could add/edit more features. For example you could crop main image, replace articles images, add description to images etc ...
